Regarding teaching, the teacher presents the course material clearly, explaining the key and challenging points of each section according to the structure of an English paper. The use of visual aids, such as cartoons, during the lectures makes the abstract content more concrete and easier for students to understand. For example, the teacher used cartoon dialogue images to help differentiate between quantitative methods and qualitative methods when explaining writing techniques. Additionally, the use of the research onion diagram provided a deeper understanding for the students. In terms of interaction, the use of English as the medium of instruction improves our listening skills. However, it is challenging for us to keep up with the teacher due to our limited vocabulary. If the teacher could employ more engaging and language barrier-crossing methods to facilitate teacher-student interaction, the class would be even more interesting.

As a second-year graduate student, I will soon be exposed to research paper writing. This is an essential part of my graduate studies and a valuable experience in my research career. After having this English paper writing course, I feel that the teachers are meticulous and comprehensive in their instruction, systematically covering all academic standards and potential issues. They explained the key points and writing methods of each section, and I learned a lot from every class. With the help of the teacher, I gained an understanding of the overall structure of a paper, the content and function of each chapter, and the writing methods, which laid a solid theoretical foundation for my future English paper writing. However, due to my limited English listening and speaking skills, it was somewhat challenging to follow the teacher's English-only instruction. I suggest that the teacher slow down the pace during lectures. It would also be beneficial if the teacher learns some simple Chinese dialogues to increase student-teacher interaction.
